Overview

Smartsuper provides Dealer Groups with a comprehensive range of solutions to the Self Managed Superannuation Fund needs of both their clients and their advisers.

Our solutions can be provided in either a co-branded or white-labeled manner depending on your needs.

Dealers need to be completely satisfied that any products, or services, they recommend to their clients, meet their stringent compliance, with due diligence requirements and reflect the quality of the service they provide.

Smartsuper is a professional superannuation fund administrator - that is all we do. We do not advise on specific products or investment strategies. What we can do is enhance the level of knowledge of advisers and provide them with a range of tools and services to make the whole self managed superannuation fund area easier for them and yourselves.

2. Our Credentials

Smartsuper holds Australian Financial Services Licence 247120 which enables us to provide financial product and deal in superannuation.

Regulator Relationships

We have excellent relationships with:

  • The Australian Taxation Office - we are a member of their Superannuation Consultative Committee, the Superannuation Funds Working Group and the Super Simplification Working Group for SMSF Administrators.
  • Treasury - we were part of the Treasury team drafting the Superannuation Simplification Legislation.

These relationships enable us to resolve any compliance issues funds may have with a minimum of fuss and ensure we understand what is in the minds of the legislators as opposed to just what the legislation says.

3. Fund Solutions

Fix it Service

This is a fee based service based on time and need - you hand over a fund with issues to be "fixed" and then be handed back to you. It includes such services as:

  • Take on a non complying fund and fix it (if possible)
  • Bringing messy funds up to date
  • Implementing strategies and doing the paperwork

Establishment Service

This is a fee based service which provides you with a fully established superannuation fund including establishment minutes and other documentation. This service includes:

  • Provision of a Product Disclosure Document
  • Organizing the trust deed
  • Preparing establishment Minutes, application forms, trustee acceptances etc
  • Providing binder for trustees
  • Providing appropriate establishing documents - ATO & trustee
  • Establishing Corporate Trustee (if required) - complete ASIC work as required
  • Establishing Cash Management Trust account (if required)
  • Complete rollovers from other funds to fund's bank account
  • Advising when complete and handing back to you

Full Administration

4. Dealer Solutions

Technical Strategy Assistance

If required, we can act as an additional resource for your own technical team. This is a fee based service based on time and need - you ask a question and receive a response. It includes such services as:

  • Preparation of Statement of Limited Advice for client relating to the technical structuring of their fund, whether in accumulation or pension mode - what to do and how to do it.
  • Calculation and implementation of pensions, multiple pensions, multiple account types and components
  • Death or Divorce

Smartsuper regularly runs seminars for clients of advisers to assist them:

5. Delivering Method

Co-Branding

This is the easiest solution for dealers and the quickest to implement. Once we have agreed on the relevant pricing for the service (dealer component and advise component) we create a co-badged PDS for advisers to use.

Any additional materials carry our logo (although you may wish to co-badge the client's welcome folder).

White Label

This solution gives the dealer complete control over the look and feel of the service offered by takes a lot longer to implement as all our internal documentation, systems and reports have to be customised to show your branding. This is not a cheap exercise and any changes are at your cost.

While we provide draft materials for you to customise to your standards, we find that a major element in the time it takes to implement is getting approval from your legal department for binding, content and disclaimers.
